2005 AFT Shelby County Cost of Community Services Study
American Farmland Trust study results
In Fall 2004, MORE commissioned the American Farmland Trust to do a study that determined the cost of community services for residential, commercial and industrial, and agricultural land uses in Shelby County and the revenues that these land uses generated. The study showed that farmland more than pays its way in Shelby County; whereas, residential development does not.
