Letters regarding Shelby County's new Comprehensive plan, submitted at the Triple S hearing on the Plan held on January 25, 2005 or in the ten days thereafter.
MORE 1-25-05
Maintain Our Rural Environment asked that the Plan include maps (from MORE) that show the dairy, Saddlebred, and PACE farms in the county, address Impact Fees for new developments, and that the Urban Service Areas for Shelbyville and Simpsonville be defined in text as they are shown on the Proposed Land Use maps.

Wagner - Arendt
The Walter Wagner, Jr. Co., Realtors LLC, owners of property along the new bypass, submitted a memo from Randall Arendt that suggested development schemes for the area in which Wagner (WAZE group) owns property.

Crabtree Farm
Nancy Crabtree states that the Saddlebred industry will be just fine in Shelby County with new development.
MORE 2-4-05
Maintain Our Rural Environment submitted requests to the Planning Commission that the new planner be employed to help produce a comprehensive inventory of agriculture in Shelby County; that the Plan address the issue of residential sprawl and it impacts on agriculture, cost of development, and detrimental changes in the quality of life; that consideration of Cluster Development be deleted from the Plan; and that the residential designations shown along the Bypass from the railroad to the area north of the schools be removed. Linda Allewalt described her past experiences with rapid growth in Illinois and offered suggestions to avoid those mistakes in Shelby County.
Shelby County Public Schools
Superintendent Elaine Farris provided suggested changes to the Plan regarding education.
ISF property
Mark Dean, attorney for ISF that owns property at the end of Gordon Lane, asked that the Plan show this property as R-3 instead of Agricultural and presents reasons for R-3 designation.
New Estate Farm
William Bardenwerper, land use attorney for New Estate Farm, pleads his case that his client's property in Shelby County should be treated as the remaining property in Jefferson County is treated for residential development.
Katie Sjothun
Katie Sjothun points out that the 20-year planned demand for acres for residential development has already been met and that planning this early for more residential development is unnecessary.
Melvin Moffett
Melvin Moffett asked that his property next to Clear Creek Park be designated as R-2 as it is in the past Plan.

Twin Springs LLC
Lucinda and James Hedden present their case that their property at the souteast quadrant of I-64 and KY 53 would be classified as low density residential.
Hinkle
Kate and Sam Hinkle ask that the property, Twin Springs, next to their farm be classified as agricultural use and present their reasons why residential development is not suitable for this specific property.
